About this guide
About this guide
Brighton City Guide is a free, independent guide to Brighton, Colorado, for the people who shop here and the people who keep its businesses open.
It lists businesses, parks, events and deals across Brighton for residents and visitors, and gathers the practical things owners keep asking about: permits, signs, property taxes, grants, available space and when the DDA meets.
It grew out of conversations with downtown owners facing rising property taxes, slow permits and not knowing where to turn. The aim is simple: help them stay open, find customers and have a say.
Independent
The guide is run by Willy Strohmeier, a Brighton business owner who also serves on the DDA Board. It is a personal project, not a website of the City of Brighton, the DDA or BURA, and it does not speak for any of them. Official decisions, applications and records stay with those bodies, and we link to their own pages.
Who’s behind it
I’m Willy Strohmeier. I’ve owned Colorado Karate Club since 2005, with dojos in Brighton and Westminster, so I know what it takes to keep a small business open here. I’m also a real estate agent with HomeSmart Realty, and I own and run Chaski Enterprises, the company behind MyLeadBuddy.com (websites for local businesses) and ChaskiStudio.com (for content creators). I have a Master’s in Computer Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
I built Brighton City Guide because people here should be able to find a local business, a park or this weekend’s events in one place, and business owners should be able to find grants, permits and help without digging through a dozen websites. I serve on the Brighton DDA Board, but this guide is my own independent project: it doesn’t speak for the DDA, the City or BURA.
So you know where I stand: I’m a licensed real estate agent, and the space-for-lease page’s searches open LoopNet and Crexi, so I don’t pick the results. My businesses take their turn in the guide’s free features like everyone else’s, and they’re labeled as mine when they do.
Listings and advertising
A basic listing is free for every Brighton business. The guide may later offer featured listings and sponsorships at published prices, the same for everyone. Paid placement is always labeled.
